    Hi
It seems you guys are the best of the best and can help me out as the suppliers i got the bits off are as useful as a chocolate teacosy.

I’ve got myself a UCUT-UC700 and am trying to get it to talk to my laptop using Artcut 2005, i’m linking it using a USB convertor.

I have installed Artcut and the USB convertor properly, but i just can’t get the two machines to talk to each other. Has anyone else used this combo or have any idea as i’m close to lobbing the whole lot out of my window at present.

If anyone is in the herts area, i’ll even pay them to set it up for me cash in hand.

    Please please please help.

    Cheers

You could try Alan Flynn, he is in Cheshunt. He has a look on here quite often & sells P-Cut cutters. I assume yours is some kind of Chinese one too? never heard the name before.

Or if you get really stuck I may be able to have a look, can’t guarantee to get it working though. I am in Stevenage.

Thanks mate, i’ll leave this up for a day or two, if no luck then i’ll try Alan Flynn and contact yourself.
    Thanks again for your help.

Where did you buy the machine from?

Imported it so language barrier is being the hard thing. The plotter works as i can get it to perform test cuts on its own but just won’t talk to the computer, prob just needs setting up properly.

Yeah I am sure it is something very simple, not seen the model mentioned here before. Is the cutter just serial? if it is & you have a serial port on your PC it is usually a bit easier to set up than it would be with a usb to serial adaptor.

as brian has said, i beleive alan flynn of flynn signs is probably the best bet for this type of machine mate. if you need his details i can get them for you or perhaps, if brian knows, he could post them?
i have heard a few folk on here posting about these type of machines, "after sales issues" they havent been bought from flynn signs but alan has been more than happy to help out if he can.

I dont know anything about the hardware/software combination your using, but from the information you have given, and if all hardware/software is installed correctly, its sounds to me like its possible a flow control problem??

You will have hardware and software flow control options in both your setup for the cutter on your software and the port your plugging the cutter into using windows. These will need to be set the same before there two can communicate.

But to be perfectly honest, im not sure how it fits into place when using a USB converter, or if it is possible. Maybe a google search on flow control with USB may help?

Sorry i cant be more helpful

Thanks everyone for your help, if someone can post up Alan’s contact details i will get hold of him (might even possibly sell this machine on and buy one off him lol)
My laptop doesn’t have a serial port unfortunately, i was never alowed to be that easy haha.

    Thanks again to everyone.
