I recon if you can get a good brand of matt cast vinyl then its do’able.
remember though, wrapping an unlaminated cast is more difficult because it is much thinner than the likes of calander vinyl and laminated wrapping films.
it will also leave allot of adhesive when removed. -
Hi robert,
not worried about the adhesive left over, I want to wrap it in matt and then use black shiney vinyl for my text and logos,
I was just worried about stretching the matt incase it lost its quality or just didnt work, i suppose the best way is to have a go!
can you recommend a good matt vinyl? I have some stuff from victory design ill try using this tomorow on a test part, but if anyone can recommend a brand to me i will go with it and get some ordered,
thank you

do you mean victory selling you JAC? 😕 I know Avery own JAC but not a vinyl i have heard allot of good reports about. 🙄
I’de maybe try Avery, Oracal or 3M
I HAVE NEVER WORKED WITH MATT IN THIS FASHION SO I HONSTLY CANT SAY. CAPS? 🙄I recon if anything you may see the vinyl getting shiney if over stretched. but i could be wrong.

Brabus the German Marcedes tuner have wrapped their latest creation in matt black vinyl……the Bullit….a 720 bhp twin turbo C Class……at over £200,000 I bet there are no bubbles 😀

thats a tidy motor john, matt looks great on it, i thought the overall finish would have looked ‘dirty’.. and i also wouldnt say no to a free one :lol1:

are you sure John?
at that price (and I cant find a reference to vinyl)A buyer would hardly be happy with vinyl….Peter

Peter,
the article in EVO magazine quoted that the finish was a ‘matt black vinyl film’
As long as the surface was perfect ( at over £200,000 I have to assume it is 😀 )
Quite a ‘projectile’ I think you would agree? Wasted in the current PC climate but at least there are still people who are prepared to push the boundaries…………..
my brother is a Merc salesman and has offered me a drive in the ‘cooking’ C63……….could be tempted to take him up on the offer……………..I doubt I would find it lacking in power and feel the need to get a Bullit :lol1:john

John, price doesn’t equate to perfect, but what is acceptable to the buyer,
I just cant see why at that price a vinyl would be used instead of a far superior paint finish?Peter

Peter,
people who can afford to spend over £200,000 on a C Class Merc are entitled to expect a perfect finish?
For whatever reason Brabus have decided that a wrap is the way they want to finish their demo car.
Matt paint has a porous feel to it…………don’t know if matt vinyl feels the same?
When we went to the Geneva motor show 3 years ago all the Brabus cars were black……..now they seem to be matt black.John

JohnNo they aren’t, there is no such thing, they just have more money than sense 😀
