  • help please with applying police reflective vinyl?

    Hi

I am looking for advice on police reflective vinyl.
I have been asked to produce a sample bicycle for the police, with the chance of doing 50 more.

However I cannot seem to find the right vinyl. I have tried 3M diamond grade, but cannot get it to stick to the bike.

I am searching for a flexible prismatic reflective, does anybody know of any suppliers.

I have tried Spandex, Robert Horne and William Smith and none of them are convinced that they have such a product.

    Many thanks in advance

    Stephen

I’ve looked back at earlier forum posts on this sort of thing and apparently if you CALL Simon at PVL 07817 874339 and explain what you require, he can sort you out.

    Cheers,

    Gareth

i wouldnt give them the sample in diamond grade. do it in dayglow and reflective to match colours but not exactly. if they accept the design, kit and price… good, get the order and bobs your uncle… but…
you need to do the design it first and when designed you must create the kit to suit the reflective or it wont last long at all.
after designed, we can redo a kit in cheap vinyl 4-5 times before getting it spot on and "then" from there having the kit properly created/cut from the diamond grade.
you could spend a week on a design, kit and fit for this sample only for them to knock your quote back, but ask the competition for something similar.

    Hi

We have got the design it has already been cut in normal vinyl, the quote has been accepted, price on the basis we use 3m diamond grade.

They had not specified the material however they have supplied us with photos of previous bikes and it seems like they have used a prismatic material.

All they were waiting for is a working sample. I did not want to pass them of with some product and tell them it is not possible to do this in prismatic when clearly it has been done before.

Anyway after discussing and demonstrating with my client, we both decided to go with the yellow fluorescent stuff and blue reflective.

I will upload the finished product, when completed.

    Thanks for the replies
