  • help please with a refine EH720 problem?

    Hi to all 🙂 new to this forum lark but really need some help as im at my wits end.

    I have got the above mentioned cutter that I purchased off Ebay. Now it has come with easycut 2005 as the cutting programme. Now im used to using the Signlab 7 program which is installed on my computer that I bought as a package with a smaller cutter.

    My question is I am having great difficulty in getting signlab to recognise the cutter. I have gone into install new cutter and the make and model does not show up. I have tried the Signlab website and it has got some refine cutters listed but when I try to download them it says that it could not find signlab on my computer.

    Can anyone help me out here as im out of my depth and worrying that what small amount of work I have got is going to dry up due to the fact im unable to do the orders, I would revert back to my old cutter but it went up in smoke 🙂

    All advice would be greatly appreciated cheers all Andy

    First off welcome to site Andy;
    I am not familiar with the plotter you mentioned, but if there is a driver on the cadlink web site, you should have no problem downloading it.
    You say you bought signlab bundled with your previous plotter, do you have the dongle, or was it a cracked copy?
    Im only asking as you may not be aware that if it doesn’t have a dongle, it is not a genuine copy. and so updates and downloads will not usually work.

    If this is the case then I would recommend buying the basic signlab package, or using the easycut software until you are able to upgrade.

    Hi Peter thanks for your reply, all I had was a laptop with it installed on my cutter and some vinyl so no sign of a dongle whether he did not give it to me I dont know ?

    Just having another fiddle and I can now get the cutter to move at least now but the blade is only going up an down on the same line as the vinyl is being fed into the machine so at least I know the computer has recognised there is a cutter at the end does this help anybody further 🙁

    Andy,
    If you dont have a dongle then the software is pirate, signlab does not run without it.
    So maybe better to use the software that came with your new plotter (is it new?) untill you can purchase a legal copy of signlab.

    No one on here would Knowingly advise you about running dodgey software.

    I have spent thousands buying signlab, along with many other professional users on this site, and although I appreciate you may have been unaware your copy is not legit, we cant really help.

    I agree with you all being new to this and only using the equipment I bought which was second hand its just my new cutter that I bought brand new. I am unaware of what the software was and what the problems will be and will certainly buy a copy now I know this is correct then it will be deleted of my computer as im doing things properly or not at all
