  • Help needed pricing up a street sign

    Hi guys

I’ve just had a request for a street sign, the customer wants to put it on their wall so no need for posts etc, just a straight forward aluminium sign 600 x 250mm with reflective vinyl.

How much should i charge, I’ve got no idea how much and I don’t want to go in to cheap as I want to make money but at the same time, i’ll lose the business if i go in to expensive.

Can anyone give me a rough guide?

    I always struggle with pricing.

    🙁

The ali mark up at least 200%

The reflective isn’t cheap even if you order 1m @610 the other 750mm isnt much use.
Reflective I reduce the mark-up on reflective but charge for application more generously. Again at least 2x the cost for the full metre.

Price it like any other job Daniel, if it isn’t going to make you a few quid it isn’t worth doing.

For what it is worth, if you don’t have a stock of reflective I would buy in the ali pre coated with reflective vinyl and then just apply black vinyl to it. This is an easy one to get done and invoiced very quickly.

    Good Luck

    Gary
