I’ve been registered for a month ago but never find time to say you all hi. That’s because firs of all ‘time is money’ and second ‘who works don’t have the time to earn some money’. Soo! Nothing it’s easy. I’ve learned it in the last two weeks. Hope nobody will get this kind self-learning. The problem is this: I’ve sold my old Summa D520 in spring and I get a new, beautiful, large, gorgeous, good smelling, GCC jaguarII 101S – his has just one problem > it’s not working. To be honest, I’ve made a test cut and it was perfect. At the office I test it and set the knife for proper deep cut, but after the installation the print manager send the job and nothing’s happened. After a few tries something’s happened: the knife goes left with an unbelieving speed and the cutter freezes. After a few attempts of restarting the cutter the knife works well (I mean it stays still) but the roles get the speed from the knife. Machine goes back and came back from dealer. Works perfect, but the soft from where I send the job, don’t let me send it outside the ‘poll size’. Good soft! Guess! The job was cut with 20 cm left and 20 cm back! No problem, probably I send it wrong. How can I send a job outside the page, when the soft don’t let me? My mistake? Probably. Let’s try again. Smaller job > sent > received > cut > result = PERFECT! Let’s try again. Same result = PERFECT! Let’s try 10th time. Result: knife goes left with unbelieving speed!

Can anybody convince me to buy this plotter? (hot)

PLEASE answer me till Monday noon (pay day) and forgive me for my pour English!!!!!!!!

    Hello Serban,

Welcome to the site. What software are you running with this? It sounds like a problem I had once.
I use a GCC Lynx 30 and after a few teething problems, it runs pretty well now. I’ve had it for nearly three years. I don’t use the polling programme that came with my machine…I could never get it to work, and at the time was only running the machine with a parrallel cable and not the required serial cable.

For information (for the others) my machine doesn’t have a lcd screen to tell me cuttable area…It’s all software based. So, when I do a cut, I layout a square on my cutting programme of my cuttable width 570mm and layout the pieces into that…A PAIN to say the least. However, I’m used to it now and it’s normal for me.

i would try buying signlab 5 or singlab 4.95 which is the most stable version. try getting it second hand if you can leeroy.. if your not into digotal printing 4.95 is just as good as 5.. other than a couple of little functions, 5 was created to move into the printing sides of sign making..
loads of fancy toys here and there but not really day to day use stuff..

Robert, where would you buy 4.95 from? I’ve just tried the cadlink site, but it doesn’t seem to be working 😥 😉

    Greetings Serban

Welcome to the best sign site on the net.

As has been said before, do not worry about your written English, the Welsh and the Scots have been using it right for centuries and still can’t get the hang of it!

    Kind regards

    Alan
