  • Help – Corel X4 Increasing text size over 3000 points

    Hello All,

Hope all is well in Corel World !

I have a silly question that may have an easy answer.
I am currently creating some wording in Corel for a large sign.
I am currently using Corel Draw X4 and i am trying to increase a font size over 3000 points. The font type is Bell Mt .

I just cant get Corel draw to allow me increase the sizing over 3000 points. Is there a default setting in the back end that can be changed ? or is it something i am doing wrong ? I tried with the resizing tool and also by trying to change the figures in the points size box with no luck.I also tried with another font type with no luck.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Cheers,
    PJ

Thanks for the quick response !
Yes Chris it’s weird ! I will take your advice to see things through.
Will be interested to see if any other user has come across this issue in the past.

    Appreciate your advice,

    Cheers,

Yes, I’ve had that happen with certain fonts. As Chris says, convert to curves first.
(I never trust the point sizes that Coreldraw says anyway.)

3000 is the limit. As Chris said convert to curves. Corel uses the normal typographical way of sizing fonts ie it takes into consideration ascenders and decenders so a H set at say 50mm won’t be 50mm if cut, several workrounds but I use the Autosize macro from Macromonster. It won’t help for text over 3000pt but you can get the cap height right, same macro for straightening objects or images.
