    Hi everyone.

I need to do a job matching pantone 293. I’ve got it quite close to the CYMK swatch, has anyone got any advice on how to get it closer to the solid colour? I’ve been adjusting the breakdown but don’t seem to be getting closer.

    Printing on JV-33 – rasterlink.

    Any advice appreciated.

well done… thats exactly what that pantone book is, a pantone bridge to show u how it will look in CMYK. Ok we may have light cyan and light magenta but they really work with faces/skin (light colours)

Need purple/Orange or Green in your inkset to get more accurate to the real pantone colour

Thanks Dave, I understand you can’t get alot of pantone colours bang on, was just asking if it is achievable getting it any closer – or to stop wasting my time on it and settle for the actual breakdown. It’s to match existing signage that wasn’t done by us, I have no idea what machine/rip is was printed on.

Could be an idea just to take a reading from the book and print to get your dE value. it may be it’s out of gamut for the media/printer and you’re already as close as you can be.

if you can find the ICC within the RIP you can plot the LAB values for both readings and see if it’s on the edge.
