  • Hello sign people,

We set up a sign company about six months ago to supply two key customers in the building industry over here, during this time I have been completely taken over by the sign business and, I must say impressed by the information sharing on this site. I can add that on more than one occasion when we have got in to difficulty the answers have been found here.

Launched in at the deep end our third project was a full colour sign 4,750mm x 4,750mm on 3mm dibond, though, thankfully it was a supply only on this occasion.

I run the business jointly with ‘my significant other’ she is from an administration/secretarial background and my background is in business and economic development. (I would be happy to talk in confidence with anybody about this) We also have a part time sales man and a flexi contract fitter.

Sensitive to the exposure of only two key clients we have built up a client base of approx 30 customers, the majority of which are repeat customers in the building business located anywhere between Meath and Wexford. During this time we have also completed some shop fronts, promotional posters and a few vehicles. We are yet to touch LED’s or other electrics, though this is an area I would love to get into.

From an operations perspective we have a totally inadequate 450sq ft workshop and we are Versacamm bashers producing signs on Illustrator CS.

Before anyone asks I am not a great Shakespeare fan, I just happened to have a box of Hamlet Cigars to hand when I signed up to the board.

    Now, where’s my squeegee
