ive noticed that when a lot of people introduce themselves theres very little feedback in relation to the numbers that have actually vied it ……come on …what does it take to say a quick hello to folks that have made an effort to introduce themselves After all youve opened it and viewed through it . ive been guilty of it in the past . saying hello makes people feel a bit more worthy hey do i sound like a MOD….eh sorry thats my gripe for today .

I’m definitely guilty of it Brian

I’ve just never felt worthy of welcoming other people in…if that makes sense 😳

I should make more of an effort

Brian, you make a good point-it’s always the same people saying the welcomes. I’m guilty as charged, I almost never reply. I’ll make a point of changing that right away!

Don’t understand why Glen feels unworthy? It’s just a hello from me, doesn’t mean you have anything to do with the running of the boards, me I just believe this is a great site and want to make others feel welcome. That way hopefully they become more involved with the site and the overall knowledge grows which is good for me.

On another note Brian I think there are also a lot of people about who will never make a post and when someone new introduces themselves will go and look to see if they have left any details about where they are based so they can see if it is someone near them or not.

Hmmm, I say hi to most people that sign up with their REAL name…not "monkey magic signs ltd"…it’s such a small thing to ask that we can refer to them by their actual name. Good to see a few new members doing it 🙂

Sometimes I do, and sometimes I don’t. It really depends on how busy I am and whether I’ve got time to go through all the "Hi" posts. That said I suppose I could make more of an effort.

    Dave – good point. 😀

I usually don’t…I have no idea why.
Sometimes if they’re from the US I’ll say howdy.
Sometimes if I can add a smart-ass comment I will chime in.

I’ll admit to never looking in the hello forum except when I posted myself… and that took me a while. It’s a nice idea but I’ll be friendly with anyone if I have something constructive to add… I also don’t very often post in the off topic bit either although I do tend to keep up with what’s going on.

Problem will be after this posting, the next person to say hello is going to get everybody on the boards welcoming them…..they will probably think we are desperate :lol1:

Reminds me of a friend in a small village. When he moved in and went into the local pub, they got all these lustfull looks that said "New Blood" *rofl*

I don’t purely because it tells ya from the bit above my pic that I’m a supplier and therefore not to be trusted.

So I stay quietly in the background as usual.

On saying that if you want stuff then just call ***** ****** 😛

I’ll always say Hi if I see a post. Always like to say more tho if I have time.

I usually troll the boards before bed (like now) so if its late, I’ll go back next day if the post is still on the list. I rarely go and look in the hello forum tho.

As Dave Rogers says, I’m less likely to say much to someone not using their real name. If they don’t want me to know who they are, then I am less inclined to get involved. If they are looking for help, I’ll do whatever I can tho.

I’m always on the lookout for Aussie members tho, I guess its a geographic thing 😛
