    Hi All
Just bought a Creation CB730 for cutting vinyl.
This is a hobby purchase as I sand blast designs onto glass and use the vinyl cutter to produce the masks I need.
I am sensitive to the fact that this is a professional to professional forum so I will be more an interested spectator than a contributor and promise not to post silly questions to waste your time !
I was lucky as the supplier of my cutter did all the initial setting up of the machine (installed the blades and set up speeds and pressure).
I plugged the Pcut into my USB port, powered it up and my computer recognized it and installed the USB/serial software automatically so didn’t even need the supplied CD ! took all of 20 secs. (running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit)
Loaded the supplied trial copy of SignBlazer and cut my first vinyl in less than 5 mins.
I’ve also done some designs in Autocad (my background is in Architecture), exported them as DXF files, imported into SignBlazer and they cut great. Same with photoshop – output as a 1bit bitmap, import and ‘vectorise’ again with good results so I have a selection of programmes to produce the initial graphics.
I’m happy to ‘tweak’ my hardware / software combination and if my experimenting comes up with anything interesting I’ll post it.
I’m looking forward to reading the interesting and helpful posts on this forum.
    Cheers

    Mike
