  • Heat Guns…what is the best to go for?

    I am looking to buy a new heat gun for general vinyl application and window tinting. has anyone got any reccomendations should I get just a bog standard one from b&q or something else?

    Dewalt do one with adjustable temp, about 24 quid.

    I don’t know about heat guns for vinyl as we use our Bosch for that too, but for tinting, its recomended you use a non direct nozzle, (look in the end of the stanadard nozzle and there should be a plate to fan the heat out.

    For tinting a heatgun with the above feature and variable speed and temp is a must. If you are dry shrinking window film you need full heat and max power if doing it with water half heat and blower setting 2 (Thats on a Bosch 600 variable speed, cost abit more but often last better, cheaper ones tend to burn out quicker too, especially if you drop them o the floor when their hot 🙂
