My cadet plus has started to drip yellow ink on prints as it is printing mainly at the end where the carriage changes direction, cleaned the heads and wipers but it is still doing it, any ideas as to the cause?

Damaged of leaking damper letting air in which then allows ink to drip out of the heads?
    Have you changed cartridges lately?

It’s a bulk ink system Steve, I’ll get some dampers ordered see if that fixes it. Thanks

normally the first sign of a pump failing not sucking the excess away

Cheers Chris, I hope it isn’t it’s not that long since I had the new type of pump. It’s only happening on the yell/mag head and seems to happen when it’s printing, the capping station appears clean not all gunked up like when my first pump failed. Got some dampers coming on Monday but not sure if this is cause or not because I put syringe on capping station and there was plenty of resistance to it sucking so didn’t feel like it had an air leak.

    Steve,

I’ve heard this happening a few times on the bulk ink system….

something about the pressure the inks are fed through to the heads……In the cartridges there is the bladder which controls the pressure but obviously in the bulk ink system there isn’t

do you keep the little bungs in the cartdridges?….If you do try them without

It all seems a bit hitty missy with the bulk system but it might be worth looking at getting them all topped up equally to roughly the same levels

I did wonder about ink levels and topped the magenta up to the same as yellow, I will try it with the bungs out and see it that helps.

My Grenadier used to do it when I topped up the refillable cartridges near or over the max line. There was simply too much ink in it!

I also get the problem when I fill up to the top of the refillable cartridges, so now I only top upto 3/4 max.

on a jv3…. it would be wiper not doing a good job or the caps are filling up with liquid so the head remains wet when the carriage returns… somehow u got to see whats going on…. rememeber, i quote JV3

Never did get to the bottom of it, thew new dampers arrived and i think it scared the machine and it stopped doing it. Not done it since, you watch it will probably start again tomorrow.
