I obtained my cutter as part of some work. It came a bit jaded and no software.

I used Signgo on trial to test and all is well. Have Illustrator CS4 and have downloaded latest windows driver, run it via LPT1 and it just does not want to know.

I’ve installed the Roland CutStudio Pug in but I can’t get my hands on the CutStudio software any where for free. It comes with the purchase of cutters so I’m surprised I can’t find a down loadable copy any where.

Has anyone overcome this problem? I’m not a pro, just doing this for myself and so can’t go buying up-to-date cutters and software.

I am so used to the Adobe suite and it would just make life easy if I can get over this plotting problem.

    Many thanks,

    Mike.

    Hi Michael

    Go here for a Manual:
    http://www.sc-x2.com/files/man/roland/C … 00_300.pdf

I would first check if it does a cutting test.
Then check what interface selection is set to on cutter….set to auto
Use the windows driver cutting direct from ai
In Corel I set outline to .01mm
You can’t go through a switch box with the connection ( just in case you are)
If this doesn’t work you may need to change your LPT connection type possibly.

Let me know how you go.

    Tim.

Hi Tim, I’ve been though all the settings before. I’ve even overhauled the cutter so I’d say I’m pretty savvy with most of it.

It’s frustrating as I use SignGo and bang works perfectly so communication is spot on. I have the latest XP driver installed and the plotter axis set to 90 degrees interface is auto and I’ve tried it set to parallel. I can go com to serial, not tried it yet but that whole signgo working thing is what’s making me determined to get Ai to work with the current connection.

When cutting from Illustrator, the last time I managed to get something to work I had a combo of origin and orientation from the cutting dialogue box that got results. Can I find that combo now…….

    Hi Michael

Will the win driver print a test page OK?

They don’t support test pages to a Cutter.

I remember reading it in either the CM manual or driver readme.
