My supplier does oracal 651 but not 751, Their alternative is KPMF 7000. I’d like to be able to stick with a single supplier so would be interested on anyones feedback on this vinyl. It is quite a bit cheaper than 751 so is the quality not as good?
    Thanks in advance

Generally as good as any other cast. Most of Hexis cast was made by KPMF

Ewan an official Oracal distributor not stocking their cast range?

Vinyl characteristics change from one brand to the next. so you may like weeding one, hate the next. one maybe brittle feeling when weeding, the other not. one may have a better sheen on the face, the other not so. one may apply easy, whilst the other just doesn’t work for you. many different reasons to use a certain vinyl. not just cost… in fact, if price is the reason we decide to use a vinyl and nothing else… well thats not a good start. 😕

Take 3M, I don’t like using their cut vinyls, but really like using the digital range.
Oracal i like using their full range, but for colour change wraps on cars, ide much rather use Avery Supreme. i like Mactac 9800 for cut vinyl work but not their wraps media… Metamark has great digital, but not a fan of their cut vinyl.
it would be great to have one brand fits all, but not always possible.

They only show 651 on their website. I am still finding my feet with all the various vinyls etc so would prefer to get to know my chosen brand before trying others – there are so many i think i’d lose track of what i like and don’t like. I started off using Mactac but have been using oracal for some time now. I like both 651 and 751 but can’t get 751 from my current supplier. Cost doesn’t worry me bust just wondered if the KPMG was cheaper for a reason.

The best thing you can do is buy a couple of metres & try it out for yourself Ewan, as has been said lots of times before what vinyl you use is generally down to personal preference more than anything else.
I’ve used the 7000 series & had no problems with it what so ever, cut weeded & applied with no problems what so ever.
I use 551 for most work & 751 when I need a cast but if I need a colour not in that range & it was available in the KPMF range I would have no hesitation buying & using it.
