  • Has Anyone Tried MDP Supplies

Fairly new to this game, only got my Pcut this week and still have not got it set up.

Have spent a little while looking around for local suppliers and the one I have seen over and over has been MDP Supplies they seem to do most grades of vinyls and at fairly reasonable prices (well i think it is reasonable).

Just wondering if anyone has tried them ?

I have used them and seem fine (on the Wirral), especially for small and start-up orders. They have a counter open on Sundays if you need urgent stuff.

I would set my Pcut up first however, as you may not be able to cut anything :lol1:

Thanks for that dont want to go out and buy from a bad supplier or buy bad vinyl straight away.

Was given some vinyl by the friend who gave me the cutter so I have some stuff to play with when I get it working.

They are about 60 miles from me so in an emergency it is not too far.

You will find that most signmakers have a personal preference for a particular manufacturer when it comes to vinyl. Your best bet would be to contact different suppliers and ask for samples that you can actually use. Play about with the different brands and see what suits you best. Don’t go buying on price alone, there isn’t going to be a huge amount of difference in price for like for like materials from different manufacturers but there could be a big difference in the time it takes you to weed, tape and apply.

I use MDP alot and find them to be very good, if you order before 6pm you will get it delivered next day. Orders over £100 are free delivery so I have never paid for postage.

I am confident to hold very low stocks as MDP always have stock.

Good Guys but that’s only my opinion.

I have used MDP since the days they were stationed in their old HQ at Birkenhead and have always found them well stocked and accommodating. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the prices are competitive.

I use mdp alot, mainly for the online ordering service that is so easy and never have a problem, Also they dont mind small orders as i have found some companies don’t want to know the little fish in the big pond!

Thanks all for the thoughts on MDP.

Made my first order yesterday and got it today. Quick and easy to order which was good and over £100 so i got free postage.

Was a little let down y the fact that 3 seperate rolls of vinyl had either holes in them or were scuffed.

The scuffs will not clean off so its a little lost material.

Edit : Otherwise very happy with them

    Hi Lee,

Never had any items arrive damaged but that’s probably down to the courier not MDP. Give them a call, these guys want your feedback, if they don’t know the issues they can’t put it right. Not sure what lengths you ordered but I always find that there is at least 10% more on a 5m roll than ordered to allow for such things.

I just ordered a colour for a job that needed 4.5m so I ordered a 5m roll, when I finished and measured the remaining, I found I had 2m left. That’s 6.5m for the price of 5m. 😀

Check the length, I think you will find you haven’t lost any material from what you ordered but if you have, call them. I know the online ordering is excellent with them but having a conversation with these guys over the phone will prove their after sales service is just as excellent.

Do I give the impression I like MDP? 😉

You do give that impression yes. I will have a check when I finish the cutting, still have a second job to cut out today.

Was very lucky that most of the shapes i was cutting managed to work around any cuts and marks on the vinyl.

I ordered in some cases douple what I needed to hold the vinyl as stock and in case i made any mistakes on my first private job.
