That is what you want. I have tried it with my serial plotter on WinXP and it works great. I use it on my Apple Mac mainly but I will be upgrading to a laptop soon so glad I have it.

We have been using a couple of the Keyspan adaptors for some years now to connect our USB Macs to serial cutters.

Never a minutes bother. Fit and forget.

I recently bought a Dell lap top Latitude D510 and that has a serial port, works fine,

as for the usb to serial adapters they work fine but a couple that I have tried don’t ebay specials, its a bit pot luck with cheap versions.

    Keyspan usually very reliable,

just a quick update, have now installed the drivers etc for usb-serial and all seems to be working ok. so far I have only cut a couple of small logo’s will try some bigger stuff tomorrow. for any one interested I am using an adaptor from anglia internet around £16-£17 they do have a website and mail order. hooked up to my creation PCUT. had to make a few adjustments and alter the port com number to 1 it first installed as com5, and slow down the transmit and receive speed! hope fully this info may help some one else. if any one needs to know the settings I have used let me know.
