well ive had this discussion on the boards before, a ‘signwriter’ is someone who uses paint and a brush, a ‘signmaker’ is someone who uses vinyl 😀

I was joking about being a dying trade as I,m kept quite busy with ‘me ol’ brushes an’ paint’ 😀

Gets my goat when people say signmaker and signwriter in the wrong context 👿

gosh keep your hair on, sign right, sign write, sign make aren’t we all in this trade together my uncle has been doing oils for over 40 years but i have never got into the correct name for it and to be honest i don’t think he would be offended if anyone did

just for the record what do i do then i produce signs with wide format printing and apply vinyl to vehicles a little difficult when we all come under the similar heading when advertising in our local directories

I’ve still got my hair on Karen. I was only winding Nik up, hence the 😀

In reality I don’t like to describe myself as a signwriter but sometimes, when asked what I do for a living, it’s easier to tell them that than to have to contend with the blank looks and questions that a reply of "vehicle livery specialist" inevitably brings.

    Sorry Neil. 😀
