There is a guide wheel for 2mm, 3mm, 4mm sheets , runs on a rail, perfect depth and perfectly straight every time.

Can someone recommend a decent Hand held router? I’m sure I’ve seen them before. It’s to score Dibond panels for folding.

    Thanks

I picked up one from a well known diy store, not expensive, probably about 40 quid, + the safety goggles , the key is finding a carbide 90 degree v shaped router bit (for metal), probably about another 10 quid, using guides clamps careful measuring, and a lot of practice, testing depths, you can do the job, I would if I could afford it, I would go for the more expensive option as mentioned in the earlier post, or a wall mounted version at about a grand and a half, but if you are not making a lot of trays, thenis it worth the outlay, the cheaper option may have a few draw backs but, practice, simple practical steps, oh and did I mention keep practicing, just my thoughts, Graham Shand

Thanks for the feedback. I think the cheaper option is all we could manage right now. Would a standard wood router take the bit, and would it have enough torque to do the job?
    Cheers lads.

I would go for a carbide router bit, which does both wood and metal, but check first, some claim they do metal, if it breaks it could be dangerous sharp bits flying around, not good, I got one from a wll known auction site and it is does the job, purchased one which cost five times as much which was rubbish, the one which works is a "faithfull I got was a 6mm, check your router adaptors for size before ordering
