You need to pull up your pants!
That’s dangerous on a ladder and not to mention embarrassing if your trousers go south on you.
    Other than that….nice neat work.
    Love….Jill

thanks for posting the pictures mate, dont know how you guys manage in cold weather. its bad enough slapping vinyl onto things in the cold never mind trying to paint. particularly that long thin border 😕

i look forward to seeing more of your work mate 😀

    Nice work Peter

In Belgravia as well – cost a fortune to park there

Doing the border must have been a pain on ladders
    I like my tressles!
Mind you I seem to be using the ali ladders more and more because of the convenience and how light they are.

    Great stuff Peter

thanks for the comments, it’s great to get some positive feedback- i have some pics of some nice loose leaf glasswork that i done a while back (cookes pie & mash shop in hackney- you probably know it john, the one in broadway market) i will try and find some canal boat pics.. Blanka and myself have just finished a ukelele shop in hanbury street (East end) looks like something out of new orleans.I will try and get some digital pics of it when the owner fixes the fascia boards up. Yeah, and the ladder thing-i suppose it’s just what you get used to!!!! I got hit by a drunk chelsea pensioner who was driving one of those "menace to society"electric buggies-i was hanging off the fascia with one arm….must have looked like something from a harold lloyd film!! nice one!!

Know the pie & mash shop well Peter

Its ages since I’ve signwritten on glass

    That’s nice work again Peter
    I’m intrigued with the dippers
    How are they held?

john, i don’t use palettes and dippers – i adopted the aussie/kiwi style, i worked with coke cans for years, now i use actimel yogurt drink bottles! perfect size! i just mix the colour how i need it, and i find that i can work easier like this-especially in tight situations. thanks marcella!!!

I agree with Jill. Either pull your pants up or get a decent pair of braces 😕 How can you climb a ladder with your gusset around your knees 🙄

Beautiful work Peter, this kinda work always shows up a dodgy signwriter, no shading to hide the flaws, great to see a real craftsman at work, regardless of his trousers!…nothing worse than a ‘hygene’ freak……..lol
Aerosol caps work really well for me, perfect width for your hand and they will clean out really well, so are re-usable.

Peter, would love to see your canal boat work as I have a Canal Store front to replicate and they want it in the traditional style.
    Thanks

Hi mate, I’m in Logan City, Brisbane Queensland. (Logan City is in the middle of the main route from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

It’s coming up to my bed time, but as I don’t have a life, I sit on here and annoy you lot whilst you are trying to work 😳

Good to have you here Peter

Paul Dwyer sounds familiar. May have met him at a sign show or something. Hope he got thru the cyclone OK. He’ll have more work than he can handle now. Not a sign standing since cyclone Larry went thru last month.

Don’t know anyone out of sydney unfortunately.

    Cheers

Brian Little is a traditional signwriter and lived here for a while in the ’90’s, he may have an idea. He may read this post and reply.
