    This is carved the same way as the Elf on the slab. "V" cut around the edge and then the salmon is carved to shape and sanded, then stained. Overall size is 14"x17". White pine.

    Warren,

    There is about an hour in the carving and the same for the staining. This is the easiest form of relief carving. It’s quite shallow. Here is a close-up of the tail area with the V cut around the fish and a little sculpting. It’s about 1/8" deep.
