Here’s a few pics of some recent vehicles.

    1) An advertising Trailer, done to a budget. Full colour print on MD3, with Matt Laminate, applied directly over the existing graphics. I was quite impressed how little show through there is through the vinyl.

    2) HTS – We were sent an awful, cluttered, design and asked ‘how much to do that?’ we politely replied explaining we wouldn’t do that to their van, here’s an alternative. A huge improvement.

A combination of MDX-B, Avery Supreme, Oracal & Metamark plotter vinyls. Bit of learning curve using the MDX, as it had no air release. I’m interested to see how well it stays in the recesses.

    Cheers Hugh,

One of my dad’s creations the van, with a casting eye from me to try and make installation/production as easy a possible.

I could have done with making the roundels smaller, so I could print across the media reducing waste. We’re happy to have our sticker on the back of it. :lol1:

Nice job david, why did you deside to use the non air release MDX?? and not use something that your more comfortable with fitting??Anyway it turned out great 🙂 well done

It boiled down to how much the customer was wanting to pay.

As MDX isn’t a ‘cast’ film (hence the cheaper price). Also the customer had the vinyl fail when the previous company installed the graphics. I spoke with our sales rep at Metamark and was advised to use the non air release version for better adhesion in the recesses.

I all honesty it wasn’t the materials fault, but my own fault for trying to install the roundels with out application tape, causing lots of distortion.

    Cheers guys,

Just had a call from the customer… they want some more ‘bits’ adding to the van 😮

    It’s a bit ’empty’ 😥

Tell your customer to look up negative space. That layout needs nothing added to it.

I would echo what Jon has said, why does your customer want to spoil a perfectly good layout by cluttering the van up.
