We’re producing a sign for a customer, with built up letters, with LED halo illumination.

The back board is mainly white, with an abstract background, I’m not sure whether a gloss or matt laminate would be best to diffuse the light on the backboard?

gloss should be avoided as will create spotting with the leds

Go for matt, gloss shows up everything if the LEDs are pointed to the panel, if the inside of the letters are sprayed white and you point the LEDs into the letter, then spotting is not an issue. Hope that helps

Matt laminate it is, panels will be mounted Monday, but the letters aren’t due for another week.
