  • Greetings from West Yorkshire, UK.

Hey everyone! – I’m Ken and I’m rather excited to be part of this forum!!

I live in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and although I’m not ‘in the trade’ – I have had my moments..

I’m a self-taught illustrator, experienced graphic designer and typesetter with some experience in the murky depths of website design.

My heart is in illustration though, and I plan to expand my artistic repertoire via the avenues of the traditional sign writer and mural artist.

I found this site by pure chance (I guess Google really is your friend..) and I find the exceptionally friendly advice that you users have between each other very inviting.

I hope I can contribute more, and can’t wait to get more involved in the forum!!

    *Quick Edit*
    My tools of preference include:

    Digital:
    Adobe Illustrator and Corel DRAW!

    Analogue:
My trusty A0 drafting station and selection of mechanical pencils
    Various airbrushes
Paint Markers, lots of Paint Markers..

There is much, much more, but I’m sure you all get the picture!

Hi Ken, welcome to the forum, there are some very gifted traditional signwriters on the forum so I am sure you will find plenty of help.

    Hi Ken.
I’ve just recently made it a goal to read Wuthering Heights.
Man, there’s a lot of accent in that book, and I picture you sounding like that as you type.
    😳
I used to love to draw, that’s another goal of mine as I get older, to start drawing again.
I’d love to see some of your illustrations.
I muck about with Corel too but I’m not very good at it.
Welcome from north of Pittsburgh, with the accent to prove it.
    Love….Jill

I will post some pictures of my illustrations later today when I finish work if you like! – I would have already, but I did’nt want to just dive in and start posting stuff, worse, posting in the wrong place!

Where should I put my illustrations? – as this is more of a sign writers forum?

I do other things as well, flyers, posters, typesetting etc, but I imagine stuff like that would be unsuitable for this site.

*BTW Admins, thanks for the profile edit! 😀

I have noticed your murals on here though Jill, they look great! – so I’ll post some of mine once I start finding my way round a bit better 🙂
