Merry Christmas Lucy, depends on what you are looking for, design software or something just to cut Oh and I think just as importantly what you are use to using.
Don’t know about you but sometimes learning to use new software can be a bit of a challenge, especially if the new package is completely different to what you are use to.

Anyone got a link for drivers compatible with Windows 7? Preferably not zipped but if zipped also a free zip program without all the spyware…

Lucy, have a root around on this link:
    http://www.graphtecamerica.com/FAQs/cut … tters.html
There are drivers there for free, I just downloaded some last week.
You really should consider buying WinZip, it’s under $30 and pays for itself.

You should be able to download the drivers from the graphtec website and windows 7 should unzip them without the need for added software.

Just make sure you download and install the correct driver depending on what version of windows 7 you are running, either 32 bit or 64 bit.

Cutting Master 2 v1.8 for the Graphtec CE5000 can be found here:

This works with Coreldraw 5 on Windows 7

Are you by any chance using AVG Antivirus?

Give me your email address and I’ll upload the file for you.

You should still be able to access the disc if you put it in the drive go to my computer and left click on the DVD drive, select the option to explore the drive. This will allow you to try and install the software from the disc but don’t know if it will run under windows 7 64 bit.

What part are you having problems with?? Have you installed the drivers for the plotter??

John Cooper gave you a link for the latest version of cutting master but I don’t know if it will work OK on your machine, you should have stuck to a 32 bit system because a lot of the problems with 64 bit are caused by drivers or the lack of them.

I have installed CM2 on my 64bit Windows7 PC and it seems to work fine.

John, I can’t see where Lucy is having a problem then, I run a windows 7 64 bit machine but not for making signs which is why I couldn’t comment on the software, oh and I don’t use cutting master either which doesn’t help.

Are you talking about the drivers or the cutting master software?? Cutting master can be installed anywhere but as John suggested just use the default, the drivers you can install by plugging in the plotter and when you get the found new software wizard just install them from there.

Pardon me for being nosey Lucy but if you had a laptop running vista it couldn’t have been that old so why buy a new one ???

GDSETUP.EXE ? I just had a look at the cutting master install and it is Setup.exe, not sure what you are quoting.

For the 5000CE this is the direct link to the cutting master download for PC

    http://www.graphtecamerica.com/imaging_ … andard.zip

Click that link, it will offer to Save or Open… Save to Desktop (Depending on ur browser)

Then right mouse button on the ZIP and Expand it to another folder.

In the folder structure called CM2 Standard\CM2 Standard\install you should find Setup.exe to run

I am also noticing a small complication on my vista 64bit home computer… lets see if you get that as well

Run directly via Adobe illustrator with the software you can download from Graphtec, works very well.
