just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone for their support shown for my brother over the last few weeks. it means allot and I’m very grateful.
as you know by now, he didn’t pick up the top prize, but like has been said, getting in the final 4 was an achievement in itself. so we are more than just pleased for him… that coupled by winning the glenfiddock award during the week against the same guy, cushions the blow i guess. :lol1: the guy was also represented by the same gallery as Jim, based in Scotland, & he was also his mate, so at the end of the day… it wasn’t that bad loosing out to him.
i personally thought the girl would have won. the one i favored, minus my biased opinion of my brother. was the guy that did the video of his mum and that sorta thing. don’t ask me why, but on the night, standing in each room alone, looking at the work, his did appeal to me. big empty room with a few bits of work going on and for some reason it had an atmosphere 😕 (and no, i hadn’t started drinking yet :lol1: )
the whole event was a great experience for me. just being in amongst it all and seeing how its all done was great…
many celebs were there, & plenty of toffs up their own backside. 😕
had a chat for a good bit with Manie from the stone roses, Bobbie Gillespie from primal scream (who was completely out his face :lol1: ) then when i was well on into the night a guy said “i think your brother was robbed mate”, i agreed and started chatting, “as you do… after about 15 minutes i said, “so what is it you do?” he replied, musician… i said, “oh really, would i have heard any of your work” (still grasping at trying to sound sober) he replied… possibly. I’m “Neil tenant of the Pet Shop Boys” doh! 😮 “taxi for lambie!”

    :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:

    Thanks again everyone… 😉

He did really well to get where he did ….. its more than most of the population can have claim to 😉 even if people think its not to their taste …. at the end of the day he’s still achieved more than they probably ever could!!

    Well done Mr J. L 😀

try not eating since breakfast because your not wanting to spoil a big meal at the event. then… when you sit down to it… you wish you scoffed a McDonald’s before hand. 😮 then add as much free pink champagne as you can possibly drink until about 3am, then bump into him amongst god knows many other celebs. hes aged, he looks nothing like he does on my album cover 😳 and he talks like prince Charles :lol1: :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:

yep… very difficult. and yep, red neck for life… but what the heck… i never fell off the podium in front of tv cameras and paparazzi :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:

Neil Tennant, Excellent! he does look a bit different now, I put it down
to that thing called getting old.( Suburbia, best record they did, brill!!)

Well done to your brother Rob, it was a great achievement, did you
supply him that vinyl at cost or whack a 300% mark up on it now he’s
    rich and famous (?)

Still struggled with the winner though!
