I know that this has been discussed in the past, but things change quickly in the sign trade.
Ive seen (all be it in a picture) a fully wrapped GOLD chrome car…now is there someone who supplies such a material…even if it is just chrome or with different finishes?
    anyone in the know?

    Hi Cheryl,

FYI I’m a 3M approved LVW and thought you may like to be aware that these films – along with 3M’s popular Di-Noc range of carbon – are currently being wrapped onto vehicles, as you’ve no doubt seen.

However, proceed with extreme caution as the (very!) small print will tell you these films are not intended for any kind of wraps and consequently once they are in place as such, all bets are off and 3M will not honour any warranty claims!

Don’t want to put you off, but it’s something you may need to be aware of.

For further and better, you may wish start here:

    Hope that helps somewhat.

yeh…i could see that there was no way I would be able to give a warranty on this stuff…It looks a complete pain in the knee to fit…must cost an absolute bomb too.
thanks for advice and link Daral

MINI Parklane (London) are showcasing anumber of Chrome and Gold Chrome wrapped JCW MINIs at the moment – they look incredible in the photos but not sure on what material used and the life of the material !!

I have a few customers asking about Chrome vinyl and I always put them off as the small bits I have done is a nitemare to keep scratch free !!!

Daral – how can it be done successfully ???

    Hey Phill,

Unfortunately, it’s a case of plenty (and I do mean plenty!) of product and lots and lots of practice!

As far a mirror/chrome effect total wraps go, it’s not something I like to get involved in. Too much hassle for an unwarranted product that is not even designed to be used as a wrap. Di-Noc is much easier to work with and is easier to fit (and a choice of colour). But again, no warranties there either!

FYI Di-Noc has just come down in price from William Smith from over £50 PSM to around £30 for the same.

Di Noc is a fantastic product and is great for iPhones, laptops, games consoles etc. as well as vehicle parts. Small amounts are used for maximum charge for a premium product! Ideal scenario really!!

    thanks Daral.

I have been using the Hexis and APA carbon and yes in the vehicle mod fraternity its a high return and I have a lot of customers wanting it. But still expensive to buy in though.

APA have just bought out a Red Carbon and have a customer wanting that already !!

Its a real shame about the Chrome and Gold as these vehicles are getting totally slated in the car forums as tacky but they don’t understand the time and effort it takes to do such a wonderful job – too much bling for some people.
