  • Glue Removal from Polycarbonate

    Hi all

    Can anybody please recommend a product that will safely remove vinyl glue from polycarbonate without destroying the surface, cheers and thanks for any tips

    I think whatever you use, do a small test someplace.

    there are lots of citrus type adhesive removers on the go, but I always revert to tar n glue remover. just “soak” a soft rag in it and dab it over the adhesive area. let it sit for 5 minutes.
    soak the cloth again and dab over the area again. then using something like a teflon squeegee, drag the soft adhesive off the surface and wipe it on a paper towel.
    repeat these steps until you see there is little adhesive residue left.
    then switch to a new soft rag and soak that in isopropanol. this will remove any leftover adhesive but more so, clean all the tar n glue remover off! so your left with a clean surface.
    be careful not to rub the surface too hard or use a rough cloth as it can mark or dull the surface of the material.

    after seeing a post on here, i started using tar n glue remover also. works very well, strong stuff.
