Hi Chris

I use a gold squeegee with material double sided tapped to one edge. I can’t tell you the material as thats my secret, but shop around and see what works for you!

The blue ones with material already on them do not work as the corners are exposed!

Hi mate I just used 20 meters of the same material on a box luton easy I here you say!
the black marks if your not careful and I use a baize material the same thats used on a snooker table or gaming table.

Cheers thanks chaps, i’ve been using the usual hexis felt one, I think thats the problem, I imagine there is a slight abrasion on the surface.

Where can I get this ‘braize’ from? Is it just a normal material you used round a squeegee or do they come as a proper one?

Hi Chris.

I buy it from fleebay, by the metre. About £3-4m

Then get some descent DS tape, 25mm wide and put stripes on the baize, then simply cut to 100mm peices.

I tend to do 3-500 at a time while watching a film or something! That way I’ve always got them and have been known to sell a 100 for a fiver to other fitters!!!

the new avery squeegees dont matty, the corners are now covered.
they do them in red and blue now.
Red is a softer nylon
blue is the stiffer nylon
the down side of these squeegees and any that have a felt edge is the felt wears through too fast for my liking.

it "is" a self preference thing i think… some use the soft side of velcro, others use velvet, felt, cotton etc…

I work with a Hungarian and she has one. Really flexable, great for wrapping. Never seen anyone with one before.

i buy mine from Robert Horne… Like you, i didn’t like the ones where the felt falls short of the edges. but had a few wraps to do and just ordered them in anyway. they sent the red ones, and since have had the blue too but you need to ask for them specifically by colour.

My auntie always wore silk knickers, but in days gone by, hot water and soap were expensive, so to save money, she just washed the crotch area by hand every day, just for hygienic reasons, but if your auntie did the same and you can find her old knickers,
the crotch area is prime material, for lining your squeegee

I’d dread to think how I’d explain it to my Uncle if I got caught rumaging around my aunts knicker draw examining the crotch.

Don’t think ‘its for my sqeegee’ would cut it…..
