fantastic bit of work mate… well done…

design wise…. it is not really my taste, but im sure the customer nloved it, which is the whole point.

ok, i am guessing you blasted it yourself… who cut the class at the top?

is the colour look of the etch due to the depth pf etch or some other method?
how was the humming bird done? same way?

thank you for taking the time to post your work, it is very much appreciated….

p.s. sorry to be a pain mate but please read board rules on profile/avatar images.

The bird was painted with metalic paint.
The dimensional illussion is from etching both sides of the glass.

Sorry bout the dog photo. It was his idea.

    Thankyou for all your input

Hi Darren, having looked at a couple of the jobs you have posted it is obviously quite specialised work that you do. How did you get into doing this sort of thing if you don’t mind me asking?

What sort of glass have you used, ie: does it have to be safety glass?

    Hi Martin
i was approached to engrave names on about 600 brick for a donation wall project. So I bought a bunch of used sandblasting equipment to do the job. Then diversified to cedar, granite, foam and eventually glass.
I don’t use tempered glass. its normally 12mm or 17mm thick.

Its a fun medium with lots of creative possibilities.
Kind of a select market though.

    Hope that helps

    Regards, DK

    Looks outstanding.

How do you get the faded effect when sandblasting? Is it to do with pressure?

    Darren

You say the depth illusion effect was done with etching on both sides of the glass.

    It works a treat!

Is that a gradient I see on the back of the glass image or is it just a trick of the eye?

    Jimmy.
