hi guys (and girls of course) have a bit of a problem with a window. my client has a fish & chip shop and having removed the old vinyl ready for resigning he has cleaned and cleaned repeatedly including with nail polish remover however when it steams up the original wording can be very visibly seen. I’m guessing the adhesive has eaten into the pores of the glass and its trapped there. There’s no adhesive remaining on the surface of the glass at all – its as smooth as a………..

Was just wondering if there’s a solution to removing the ghosting that anyone knows of.

Many thanks in advance for your help

    New Glass!

You could try a polish designed for glass that has a very fine cutting paste (on a small area first)

I would guess that the glass where the vinyl was is closer to the original surface and the area around it has worn, weathered or been cleaned over a period of years.

I could be wrong but I can’t see the adhesives having any effect on the glass, more like with Vans, the other areas have fading.
