Patrick you need to put a thick out line around the text, and then convert the outline to an object. Then break the object apart and delete the part you don’t need. Regards Peter

Patrick, nope, I’ve read through that 5 times and I still don’t know what you’re on about. Explain it again, but type slower. 🙂

I’ve just read what I typed and I don’t understand either. Peter

Simple things like this are far easier if you use a dedicated signmaking software like flexisign

Or Coreldraw! You don’t need to spend 2 grand to get an outline tool. (That should set them going 😎 )

I did it in signlab, I’m not brilliant with corel, I’m sure someone will describe the best way in corel better than I can, now they know what you need. peter

In Corel, use the contour function: Under the Effect menu choose Contour (Ctrl+F9). In the pop-up control box for the Contour function select ‘outside’ to place the contour around the outside of the text. Choose the offset – the distance the contour is created around the text. Make the steps = 1. Make sure your text is selected and click Apply. A contour object will be created around your text. With the new contour group selected, go to the Arrange menu select ‘break contour group apart’ – the original text and the new contour object are now separate objects ready for colour, etc. Voila!
