    hello all

i have a cutter pcut630 and now it has developed a problem still under warranty from fellow on ebay so i am sending it back.

the problem is that the blade does not slide from side to side even when you press the text button it justs sits in the one spot and cuts. i am thinking stepping motor or power board to stepping motor or mabe something else.

but the fellow seems ok and said to return the machine. it is 11months and has done a good bit of work to be fare.

now i have come across a fellow that has a GERBER FASTTRACK 650 and composer software version 2 and some mixed vinyl rolls mabe 30m total and he wants to sell it to me what would be a fair price and is the cutter any good.

    thanks dmc

    Hi mate

The plotter is the same as a Mutoh SC650 and when i used to sell these for a vendor about 14-15 years back I didn’t think there was a better cutter on the market BUT that was over a decade back !! Dont know how long they were made after that but it could be very old.

I think you will find it as good (if not still better) than the PCUT in performance terms but I wouldn’t offer much more than a couple hundred

    Cheers
    Macky

I would just buy a new plotter from a reputable maufacturer.
they are not that expensive, and should recoup there cost in a few weeks,
    if not a few months.

just my opinion, dont mess about with cheap tat, or second hand stuff, unless you know its history.

    it’s usually false economy.

As Peter says but have to say I run a Fastrack (Mutoh) and composer and never had a problem, great machine. Just remember to get the dongle with the software or it will cost you a new set

Chris do you use the old Composer Software? does it work on Windows XP? I thought it was only compatible up to Windows 98?

I use XP on both machines, have the old version on one and the new version on the other. I prefer the old version to cut with, the new one is better for exporting and screwed Spanedex down to about 300.00 including a new dongle
