Been about 10 years since I ran a Gerber…but from memory:

Have you tried running the ‘special cleaning card’ through to see if it’ll clear it?

Failing that a manual inspection a GENTLE wipe over the thermal head.

After that, sadly, it’s pretty much a "yes, dead pixel" 🙁

    Look for ThermApprove cleaning card.

Believe Gerber USA P/N is P66530B (after a google search) might be something available in the UK.

I’m also vaguely remembering an A4 sheet of plasticy material that you ran under the thermal head of (wait for it) the old Roland colorcamm to clean them.

After 2 or so metres of printing I gently wipe the head with 99% IPA with a clean cloth. On the odd occasion i get a line though a print due to dirt on the head (especially on a low res print mode) a quick wipe will always sort it out.
