    Hi all,
We need to replace our gs15 plus plotter after 6 years of faithful service but am being quoted 5 grand by Spandex for their recommended replacement. This seems to be alot to spend on a 380mm plotter, are there any other options?
    Thanks
    Mart.

I think you are stuck with Spandex on this one as the Edge and it’s plotter need to be able to take the same info and line up with the bomb sight.

Look out for a second hand GS15 or HS 15.

Is it not repairable? 6 years is not very old in Gerber years.

    Hi Martin

i presume Spandex are offering an Envision 375 plotter. we have one of these & have to say that its the best machine we have owned. Ours is running all day every day (well weekdays!!) & has never let us down.
I agree it is a bit pricey though!

    cheers

    Thanks for that.
I thought it would come down to a Spandex plotter, it is the envision that they are recommending. Our Gs15 plus is only six years old but has seen a great deal of use in that time, and has become a bit of a bottleneck, we need something a bit faster now.
    Thanks,
    Mart.

Hi Martin I was talking to Harry at Mathius last week and he has a brand new boxed envision sitting in his warehouse, might be worth a call.

Looking for a gerber myself at the minute. The plotter does seem very expensive. I’ve been quote £1950.00 for the GSX with a recon Edge 2

I have two GS15 plotters (both 16 years old and still working), but I also bought an Envision 375 last year.

Once you start using it, you will never want to go back to the GS15s! It is sooooo fast it’s untrue 😀

In my opinion, worth every penny (i will admit it’s expensive, but at the time I did pay £4500 for each of the GS15s)

    Regards,

    George Z.

£1950 for a reconditioned Edge 2 with plotter ours cost £8500 without plotter two years ago, was that from Spandex?

I think Kenny means the plotter for £1950 if he buys the Edge mate.

Thats not a bad price i paid £23,000 for a 4B with 15 fonts and gerber scanner 1 over 25 years ago. But the envision is a great machine ours has only let us down once in 8 years.
