  • Gah! Anyone know what this font is?

Looked like a garramond of some kind to me, but none of mine have that flare on the bottom of the ‘E’ & ‘L’

    Anyone help?

    Cheers,

    Gwaredd.

Hi all. Still no joy with this & the signs need to be up next week. I’m truly stumped. It looks like a cross between Garamond (the ‘T’) & Goudy (the curves on the base of the ‘E’ & ‘L’) but I’m sure it’s a proper font.

    Any font geniuses out there?

    Cheers,

    Gwaredd.

    It’s Goudy Old Style I think 😀

It looks like loads of fonts but matches none exactly, none that I have checked anyway. With a bit of squashing and kerning it could be Trajan.

I agree Andy. It’s a puzzler! It’s definitely not Goudy old style as the ‘T’ is wrong & the serifs aren’t ‘sharp’ enough. Cheers anyway 😀

Think I’m going to have to get my node toolbox out & make it up as I go along 😕

🙁 ………… I can’t find a perfect match. It’s like so many fonts but when you look closely there are differences.

It’s similar to Arthur Vanson’s Essendine by Letterhead Fonts.

Cheers for all your input guys (and girls!)

I’ve not managed to locate the original font (I’m sure it’s out there) but by using a combination of Venetian, Goudy & Garamond, & a whole morning of pulling nodes around, I’ve cracked it.

    Once again, many thanks!
