frst shop front sign and illumated sign help please?
Hi guys,
I have my first shop sign to do and was wondering where i can get hold of the materials for it. "cheap" , the guy wants yellow perspex that glows with a light behind it for the street sign (that’s in need of a overhaul)
and yellow board for the shop front.
that is’nt having a light behind it but it
would be nice if the yellow’s matched i thought.can anyone point me in the right direction?
i called a place that i found in the yellow pages and they quoted over £140
for a 4ft square piece. im guessing that this price was retail but i dont know as im a newcomer . please help !

I’m not exactly sure what your looking for….
If it’s just the Perspex you’re after, you’ll have more luck going to a distributor like Amari etc. You will have to buy a whole sheet but they will sell you the smallest sheet size available and cut it to size for you. If you need a lightbox, I always use Kestrel signs in Birmingham – they sell fair priced lightboxes and will supply the perspex as well.
edit: 140 squids for 4′ square of perspex is a rip off, although colours are usually dearer than white.
