    Guys

I have a requested in for a job similar to the image attached.

The shop front is being replaced completely with a glass front from floor to ceiling.

My thought where the top half of the glass will be frosted from within, to say 1.2m from the top edge to the bottom, giving me that frosted edge I require as seen in foxtons.

The letters were going to be 100mm built up steel powder coated and stuck direct to the face of the glass.

I was then going to use a trough light at the top as seen in foxtons to create the overall lighting effect.

Does this sound right or am missing the point on something.

Would appreciate your advice on this.

    Many Thanks

I’ve managed to sort this now.

According to a big trade signs supplier not mentioning no names there is an internal light box, I got quoted £3600 just for the box….

Man this was shockingly high, a lightbox with opal panel and some LED – 4m wide…

Don’t think so. Pricing is so up and down with these trade guys!

Looked on a Google search for ‘foxtons’ images and it appears to be etch next to glass, backed up in translucent green with an LED light box matrix behind that.

recessed internal bulkheasd on the ceiling behind the glass, Green trough light/led causing a wash, letters on the outside.

led matrix on an internal lightbox through green translucent with letters

lots of others on the net, they seem to be done several ways

It looks to me like it’s either printed etch or translucent with and led strip.

From memory, the text is about 8mm thick Perspex mounted to the outside of the glass – if so, better to cut the logo in reverse in black vinyl to apply on the inside to hide up the adhesive on the back of the letters.

A shop in our local high street (in kent) is being fitted out and looks a hell of a lot like a foxtons fit out. – I’ll take a look when the signage goes in.

Yes definitely LED strip in the alcove behind the glass.
