Forecourt price displays – Supplier needed
Posted by Brendan on 21 February 2005 at 14:05I am trying to source an illuminated garage forecourt price display which can be changed manually. I have seen a type with a calculator type digit generally in white mounted on a black background. Each digit is made up of a number of these white sections which can be fliped over to become black in order to change the price on display. Ideally I would like to get the digits only not the entire assembly.
Thanks

The system you have seen is the old A C Edwards MDDI (Manual Digital Display Information) system but unfortunately they went into liquidation a few years ago. Hawes Signs bought most – if not all – of the rights to their systems and so I’d suggest you try them ( http://www.hawes.co.uk 01604 790000 )
The other option is to try Image Elect over in Ireland (North & South) as they seem to get involved in all sorts of signage maintenance and may have some bits & pieces that they’d sell you.
Good Luck

There quite an old type of sign,
you could try omega signs, in Leeds (i don’t have there number) when i worked for oldham signs (which sort of became omega signs) they used to use them, but were turning over to digital, that was about 12 year a goSimon
