    I think you will struggle to get an “accurate” template for one of these.

    I think the quickest solution, is to use knifeless tape

    Knifeless-tape all the way!

    Templates are great if you can get hold of an accurate one, but who will have an accurate one and simply give it away? I know I wouldn’t!

    I have been asked for this type of thing a few times now but I haven’t done any yet.
    I can use knifeless tape but I can’t make it do this type of thing and even if I could, I think the time it would take me. would far out-weigh what I could charge! 😳
    I did try finding a template online but there does seem to be lots looking but none successful.

    As Rob said – Knifeless-tape. It’s not that difficult, but make sure you charge accordingly. No point in giving it away

    That looks great Phil!
    Had you been using the tape a long time before trying something like this?

      I did another van the same as this previously, and that was the first time I had used knifeless tape.

      You follow the body contours where they exist, and I used 25mm application tape to mark out the space around the headlights. Then the rest was more or less done by eye. The hardest part is making sure both sides are symmetrical

    @Phill Fenton

    Thanks Phil, I think my worry is that over that length or size of shape that the tape might fail or cut wobbly or something and the whole thing is wasted. maybe i am over thinking it. 😣

      I used to have the same fear -but the knifeless tape works very well. You just have to be careful

    I think the best way is if I practice doing something similar using my own van and see how I get on. I don’t need to do one just now, so it’s probably the best time when I have no customer pressure! 🙂

    Sorry, one more question. How long should I expect to take to do something like this?
    I know I will take much longer than you, I’m just thinking on how I would price my time once I get a feel for doing big sections like this?

      I spent the best part of a day doing this
