Thought it was about time I brought a bit of culture back in my life, so nipped into the city on Saturday to the Globe theatre.

Saw their latest production of Romeo and Juliet and must say was thoroughly entertained for the whole 3 hours. Not having touched Shakespeare since being at school we went for a ‘yard’ ticket, which for those who dont know is the 17th century equivalent of a ‘mosh pit’ (standing) 😀

Very well played and nowhere as heavy as one might expect. A fiver gets you a yard pass, and with a bit of luck you get to lean on the front of the stage like we did.

Just thought I would mention if anyone frequents London and fancied doing something a little different. Excellent value to. The street entertainers around covent garden want a fiver for 10 minutes of juggling! 😀 😀

    That sounds like fun.
I could never make heads or tails from Shakespeare but I can still recite Portia’s speech from The Merchant of Venice.
We had to memorize it in 10th grade.

    Nice on Adrian,

might try that one day always fancied a visit to the Globe.

Was in Covent Garden a couple of weeks back the kids started watching one of the street entertainers she had a huge crowd…near the end she was asking if everyone could spare 20 quid 😮 😮

I wouldn’t mind but she was crap so 50p went in the hat :lol1: would have liked change from that aswell.

:lol1: I noticed that when John and Gill Singh to Dave and I to Covent garden for a look,

A street performer there, who played the crowd well, and was fairly entertaining, was asking for 2, 5 10 or 20 quid for his performance.

What happened to the days when you paid them on what you thought it was worth?

And we got there after the performance started so didn’t get a full show, so I should have got a discount I reckon. This guy said he’d been doing it for 10 years, so he was obviously making a quid or two. Truth be know he is making more money per hour than me….. all tax free of course. 😕
