Fonts. Where do you get them?
Posted by Gwaredd Steele on 22 August 2006 at 16:05I’m slowly swapping over from mac to pc & am a bit low on PC fonts. The mac ones won’t swap over, which is a shame, so was wondering where you guys get them from?
Cheers,
Gwaredd.

What format are your MAC fonts in? If adobe .pfb then signlab will happily use them.
A great source for free fonts is PC magazine coverdisks – often get thousand given away, and typing in ‘free fonts’ in a web search.

True type & post script David. Some work fine, others not. Should I have recieved a font disc when I upgraded to flexi 7?

most of ours come from Corel CD2 or Gerber Omega CD although the expensive Adobe CD’s didn’t contain many at all!
The others come from Explosion clip art CD’s and collected over the years. -

There is a Newsgroup – alt.binaries.fonts
Where people swop fonts, you can put requests for certain fonts and users may help. Don’t put your own email address on a newsgroup though otherwise you will run out of bread before you run out of spam.lol
Ill wait for the copyright arguments to start after this then……..
I don’t condone it but it has helped me out on a few occasions when I have had my back against the wall……….
