  • Font to replicate single line engraving

I am looking for a font to look like single line engraving. My customer designs these plates in Autocad using a font called romans.chx but I would like to re-design them in signlab. The font is probably medium in weight and has rounded ends similar to VAG.
Thanks for any help with this one.

Its roman simplex .shx , its a single line font and the reason it has rounded ends is cos of the cutter diameter , I have it in Coreldraw , but it is a lousy font as it consists of a lot of straight lines. I have a signlab disc with VEF fonts meant for engraving if those would help. I can send you the TTF equivalents of the Acad fonts or some signlab ones?
Tel me what you would like?

Rodney thanks for reply, I have the signlab engraving fonts but none of them are up to the mark. Perhaps I should explain what I am trying to achieve. My client wants serial plates etched in s/s with standard information which I what to print a postive and etch. Then the variable text would be engraved at a later date with single line text. I am hoping to get a printable font to be close to the engraved font. They print onto paper using the roman simplex font from Acad so I was trying match it. If you have it as a ttf it may help. email direct to ian.rankin@btinternet.com thanks for that. I watch your other replies with great interest as you have such an extensive range of equipment and are using it to its limits. also not afraid to share on the boards.
