just been asked to do a 1.7 mtre X 800mm sign in 5mm foam board
what spacing would anybody recommend for fixings don’t want too many or to few its above a door into brick so any advice on screw sizes as well
cheers

I normally do them about 45cm apart but it does depend on the overall size
Just make sure when you drill through the Foamex you drill larger than the shank of the screw to allow for expansion otherwise you will experience the board buckling. Which means being judicious when driving home the screw – firm enough to hold the board against the wall but loose enough for the board to slip whilst expanding
hi dave customer wants foam board tried to steer him towards aluminum composite even showed him samples it is short term so he took it on board for when they move to new unit
did a sign a while ago the guy was adamant foam board 3mm the sign was 3metres long couldnt turn it away rang me about three months after to redo no problem with him as i told him what would happen and he took it on the chin have even had referal work through him
