I am in the process of buying my own premises and they are a bit smaller than the unit I rent at the moment. I have a 3 phase saw that cuts 3050 x 1500 and it will not fit in the new unit so I am having to get rid and find something else. I have seen the one’s at Sign UK which are like a triangle frame and use a stanley knife blade to cut. Anyone out there got one? and how do they perform? I am looking for something that does not create swarf as the cutting will now have to be done near my plotters.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.

    Dave,

You need one with two heads. One with blade for foamex and one with the wheels for dibond.

not long ago i bought a Excalibur 5000 when i first used it i was all for sending it back but changed the blades from what was given with it to super heavy duty ones and its wonderful the diabond is cut by a separate head which has two cutting wheels on it i have cut some which was fine.

draw back max cut length 60 ins

I also am looking at getting something from Keen Cut, or similar. My dilemma is whether to go for the ‘triangular’ one or a bench-top type, as there is a cutting limit on the Excalibur.

You should look at the Festool saw and track system, I have metioned it here before. It is compact easy to use and comes with a hoover to extract the cuttings.

    Hi Folks

I have an Keencut wall mounted double headed cutter which I am replacing next month with a wall mounted saw. I think they are excellent but with the amount of stuff I now need to cut I need something quicker.

I looked at buying the Excalibur triangle unit, but purchased a festool clone after reading one of dave.com.com.com’s posts.

It does not have the extraction, and uses your own circular saw, but is 1/2 the price. Cuts to 3600mm long but can be packed away in a cupboard when not in use.
