FLOOD COATING CAST
Posted by Ade Brown on 19 January 2009 at 12:07Hi All
I’ve a job to do which requires a 300mm x 2500mm stripe down the van,
I am using KPMF’s cast flo yellow!!
Would you apply application tape to do or just apply straight on??

It’s probably a personal choice Ade, dependent on skill level and personal preference.
If it was me, I would probably tape it, so that it was a bit more rigid and therefore easier to keep straight. My lads would prefer to do it without.

Hi John,
I’ve got to be honest not really a lover of cast – although that more down to never used it much since I started applying everything dry!!

Id go along with John here and probably tape it so that it doesn’t flex too much, again it depends on your skill level, I wouldnt do it without unless your very confident.

I’d tape it too Ade. Either way will work, but without tape you’d be lucky not to stretch it if you make a mistake.
Two person application would be better without, but end of the day, tape will give you added confidence and it will be easier to lay.

Thanks guys
Tried a 3ft length last night on a piece of di-bond and was happy with my result!!!
I think i will put app tape on as you say with the cast it more likely to stretch over the couple mtrs
