well flash is the property of Macromedia… so Flash is written with Macromedia Flash… download the trial from Macromedia site

Try Swish (google search should find it) or Namo Flash Creator http://www.namo.com both are cheap compared to Flash but still produce Flash output, Namo can also open Flash files for alteration.

Well i’m going to ask because I don’t know.
What is flash?

I’m in no way fluent in web graphics Russ, but flash is when you have moving images on web sites.. not movies but things that swirl and stuff.. like the blinking eyes on some of the avatars.
I usually don’t like it on web sites, because i’m always in a hurry..steve

Its not to complex 😮 just like making a movie 😮 no if you play with the software for a bit and get a good tutorial book your 2% there :lol1:

i use flash a lot , once you get the hang of it the sky is the limit , but i tend not to use all of its functionality (i.e. i use corel , but probably only use about 20% of its capabilities)…
good think about flash is its the same as frontpage in the way that you can use one page as a template for another page and so on , and in effect just make links to the other pages…..
its something you need to play with….
2 examples i have done below :

Flash is a pain. 🙁
I had an equiry from a potential new client his morning and wanted to do a van drawing but because all the images on his website are in Flash I can’t steal them. 🙁
Curerently on Plan B. 😀
-
But John because flash images are vectors the client should be able to get hold cuttable artwork for you
no excuse

Paul,
I didn’t know that Flash images were vectors. 😀 We learn something every day. 😀
If it makes any difference they will be images for printing rather than something to cut. The customer has the files, but says that they are too large to email. He has put them in the post but I was only looking for something quick and dirty so that I could do a drawing this afternoon.
Maybe the images on his website are not the ones he wants on his vans.
Anyway, I will just sit back and wait.

No I can’t. I don’t know how to! 😀
My normal trick of CNTRL select (Mac) and copy to disc doesn’t work.
The four images I want on their site http://www.blue-apple.co.uk are in a horizontal line so I need to get them individually so that I can rearrange becaue I want to put them vertically down the back of their new van.

Check the pics for JC thread in babble forum John.

No problem John.
I did what paul said… a screen shot, took it into photo paint and cropped apart.steve

quote steve geary:I usually don’t like it on web sites, because i’m always in a hurry..
steveI have to agree with Steve. You can do some great stuff with Flash but I think it is best used to enhance a site, not for a site to rely on it. Speed is becoming less of an issue but accessibility and searchabilty still are (even though Macromedia has been addressing those issues). I especially hate those flash intros, just get me to the info I came for in the first place.
