    Could someone please tell me how to produce a fixing template for stainless steel letters (in depth) and what software i should use for my dragon pro i have artcut 2005

    Use whatever software runs your plotter. Type in text in the same font/size as your letters. Swap the cutter for a pen and draw away.

    Failing that do it manually. Run out a large sheet of paper draw a long straight base line and lay out your text, draw round them, fix locator’s to the letters and press back onto the paper………………

    the problem is that artcut has a hieght and width on the tool bar that is a different size to what plots out. If i put 300mm hieght the letter size will plot out about 152mm. But the actual letter height 152mm is shown in the bottom right hand corner. The 300mm seems to be the dotted box that the letters are in

    I think you are setting the media size rather than the letter size, dont know artcut though, I maybe wrong.

    Draw a box that equates to the actual height of the lettering and resize the text to fit. Ignore the font size notification. Letter height will include the blank spaces above and below the characters. Seems to be a common misconception with all but the best sign software (thats why its expensive!).
