First post for awhile frosted window graphics
Posted by Mark Banks on 5 July 2019 at 09:14Thought I would share with you a job I did last week, 6hrs on my own 53 windows all done with Aslan Dry Apply vinyl, amazing stuff and perfect for the job, any creases were simply heated out with a hot air gun and with the air release I have to say it made the whole job so much easier.

Very nice work.
My only observation, is the union flag appears to be upside down 😆 Although doesn’t seem to affect them all?
But that’s just my ex navy eye nitt picking

If you view the flag the other side of the glass you will see the union jack is in fact not upside down – which is obviously what Mark expected ex submariners to do when admiring his work 😉

Ahhh that explains it, not many windows on them submarines.

Yes well spotted, they are been changed tomorrow as I have two left to fit.

:blushing: sorry
Although I’m curious as to how some are wrong and others aren’t?
Were they printed & cut, separately to the flat vinyl?

Very Smart Mark, well-done mate. Nice etch window graphics often make the office space so much more professional looking. #Thank you for taking the time to share you work, look forward to seeing more mate!

They changed their mind about having printed flags, they were originally just cut along with the lettering, however I stupidly forgot to mirror them when printing. Some are correct because around the stairs the vinyl is fitted on the side as you look at it so weren’t reverse cut, the stairs were pretty high and steep.

No all measured from the base.

Ahhh fair enough, you’re not the first, and wont be the last. Done it myself enough times, printed something and realised I haven’t clicked mirror!
Regardless still a tidy job [emoji106]

It’s a nice job, well done [emoji106]
On long runs such as this, a laser level would make your job so much easier.
We do pretty much everything with lasers these days, allowing for hands free installation and always perfect results. Eliminates floor/ceiling undulations too [emoji846] -

I see what you mean. It does appear to be a bit of a wiggly line in the set of 4. Could be a wonky frame…never trust a building!
In instances of a lack of a true datum a bit of string works wonders. One of my most important bits in a fitting kit!
