    Hi.

Ive just got an order for my first lightbox…Yippie.

As its my first im a bit apprehensive, so im guessing i need clear acrylic for the front panel and a translucent vinyl.

Also how do you fix them, as ive been looking at a few out and about and some are fixed onto 2 horizontal wooden batons, is this recommended.

    Thanks

    HI Mate,

you only want clear acrylic if you’re flood coating the whole of the panel(s), if it’s just cut vinyl graphics / lettering then you’ll want the opal panels,

if you were to put clear acrylic in without covering the whole panel with a flood coat, you’d see all the lights inside.

    cheers.

    no problem!

flood coating is the term used for when you cover a whole panel / window with a single layer of vinyl, "flooding" the surface, so to speak.

    cheers.

Hugh you want Opal either way to diffuse the light.

Even if your going to flood coat you will have cut outs in the vinyl to inlay text etc.
